Who We Are 

Lauren De Valencia joined Stefan/George Associates in 2009 and became Managing Principal in 2021. During her tenure with the firm, she has consulted clients and represented their interests through advocacy before the California State Legislature and various state agencies. As a seasoned governmental affairs professional, Lauren has negotiated numerous successful outcomes on legislative and regulatory issues, including several high-profile bills impacting planning and zoning law, consumer products and statewide recycling/product stewardship programs in California. Lauren also served for several years as Director of Administration for the American Planning Association, California Chapter, Board of Directors. 

 

Known for her collaborative and strategic approach, Lauren works closely with clients to understand their goals and navigate California’s complex legislative and regulatory environment. She takes great pride in building and maintaining strong relationships with legislators, staff, and other organizations to foster consensus and, when necessary, achieve effective compromise.

 

Before joining Stefan/George Associates, Lauren worked as an Account Executive at Porter Novelli, a global public relations firm. There, she advised a range of businesses and nonprofit organizations on strategies to effectively communicate key issues and strengthen relationships throughout the state.

 

Lauren earned her B.A. in Sociology from California State University, Sacramento.
